Sunduki Mountains

Geological creation of Sunduki is related to evolutionary process of creation first living beings on the Earth. This mountain chain stretches between the left bank of the river Belyi Ius and the Black lake. The stones on the mountain peaks are very unusual and the mountains themselves are unique. Archaeologists are sure that Sunduki were used for stargazing. You will be able to see ancient astronomical observatory – Siberian Stonehenge.

Ancient priests-astrologers believed that Sunduki like the whole world were created by supreme forces of Universe and it was extremely important for them to give a meaning of this, to interpret and to hand it down to fellow tribesmen and following generations. Sunduki is not only an observatory, it is so called place of worship or a temple that closely related to rock paintings. Strength of stone preserved ancestor’s traces, and now we have nothing to do but manage to read those traces as proficient pathfinders do.

The main concept in astroarchaeology research consists in giving a meaning of such monuments on Sunduki as block stone, stone flags vertically fixed and forming an enigmatic labyrinth. Decryption of this labyrinth and others concomitant objects (tumuli, paintings, items made from pebble stone) using computer programs gives an opportunity for scientists to introduce this complex of antiquities as the ancient astronomical observatory under the open sky, that has taken the lead over the British Stonehenge.
